Race report by Eric Dankel
Round 2 of the ETS 2010/2011 Series took place last weekend at Czech, Hrotovice at the beautiful Sport Hotel. There were 108 drivers who attended in the XRAY Pro Stock class.

On Friday morning, everybody had 4 rounds of practice. The track looked easy but every small mistake cost a lot of time. Right from the beginning of practice, the XRAY cars showed that they were going to be hard to beat.

On Friday evening we had the first round of Qualifying, and on Saturday there were four more rounds.

Race report by Alexander Hagberg
Martin Hudy called for a testing session at the XRAY factory, which, with its great carpet track, gave a great opportunity for practice for the upcoming important ETS race. After not the best start at the previous round in Kastellaun in THE Modified class, we were determined to find out why we were lacking pace. To aid in this, Martin and Juraj had prepared some new set-up ideas which immediately improved the performance and cornering speed of the car. I had a good feeling after the factory testing and I knew that I had a good starting set-up for the Xenon control tires.

When we arrived for the Friday heat practice in Hrotovice, Czech Republic, I struggled somewhat with the car being a little too difficult to drive for me. Some minor changes to the roll center and front shock positions transformed the car. In the first qualifier I finished 3rd overall, and from there I was consistent within the top 5 positions to finally claim the 3rd overall qualifying spot. Ronald Völker was still the fastest man at the race but the distance to competition was now much smaller than before, with myself and Marc Rheinard being the closest competitors. For the finals I was hoping to battle for the win, but the narrow and fast track layout really made it difficult to make a pass without a mistake from the front runner. In the first final I found myself in trouble after a small roll, which put me in 5th place overall.

The re-run of the second final started off much better where Marc and Ronald came together after only a few laps. I then had my opportunity to go into the lead, a lead which I held for about 4 minutes until the very last lap where I clipped a corner dot and rolled over and thus had to settle for 3rd. I was able to hold the others back fairly easily thanks to the great handling of the car. For the last final I had a small incident with Freddy coming from behind and this slowed my pace a little and in the end I was able to finish 2nd overall. The overall result must be seen as fairly satisfactory and a great step forward. The results truly show the potential of the new car and I am confident for the upcoming encounters.
